My Mother

Today I began writing to my mother. I began a journal so I could literally talk to her about my feelings and what I was going through on a daily basis. This may sound strange to you but I needed a way to be able to share things with her and feel like she was still a part of my life. So, this is a picture of my mom taken about a year before she died.

I do not know what camera was used for this photo.

A Photography Blog

20151231_184709-6-edited

I decided I am going to do a photography blog. I do not know what the pictures will be. I have just decided to be in the moment, and take pictures of whatever seems to strike me as important at that moment. Most pictures are taken at the spur of the moment, and often turn out to be the most sentimental.

I will be providing a short caption, or short blog with each picture to convey to the reader what struck me as unique in the picture as a photographer.

My goals for this blog are pretty simple; 1) to create memories for my children, 2) to let others see the world through my pictures, 3) to connect with others through my pictures, and finally 4) enjoy a hobby that gets me outside and moving around.

I hope you enjoy my pictures and I look forward to your comments.

View from 6,643 Feet

Taken from the observation tower at Clingmans Dome in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Elevation 6,643 feet. You are so high the clouds just pass right by you. You can also see for miles on a clear day.

Taken with a Canon Powershot G-9.
